In November last year, I attended TedXYouthSG and here are some of my takeaways from that day.

From the 4th to 8th of February this year, my students from my course will be organizing an integrated marketing communications conference called IMC+. For those who read this blog and are interested in Integrated Marketing Communications, here are 5 reasons why you should sign up now!
So, sign up and find out for yourself!

Just a typical saturday morning really.
Today’s ride plan was to rendezvous with the Team Absolut ( T@ ) Outriders at 4:30am for a early morning scorcher to Long House via Changi and Bartley Highway. Followed by Team SP-Recycling’s training ride at 7am.
T@ OUTRIDERS

( Scorching with the T@ Outriders )
With 8 fast guys in our train, the pace never dropped below 35km/h. But even though it was tiring, it was a good hard ride with us reaching Long House close to 20 minutes before roll out number 2.
Team SP-Recycling
After an ‘off season’ for most of us, our team finally got back together.
Once again, another fast ride with everyone coming to the front on the flats. But the highlight of this was the JEWEL SPRINT POINT, but i’ll get to that later. In the meantime, here are some photos.

The SPRINT
Now, on to the JEWEL sprint. On most days, I take this out with Winston ( ASIAN CAV ) taking second. But today, whoa, what a turnaround. Today, ASIAN CAV WINSTON and LOCOMOTIVE CHEN YEE were just MONSTERS! They totally SMASHED ME! At the the start of the sprint, Winston just started pulling away from me and before I knew it, he was 2 bike lengths away! Then that was when Chen Yee jumped. I turn to my right and I see this big guy sprinting after Winston and in my mind I’m thinking OH MY GOSH! So, Chen Yee smashes me and Winston smases the sprint. Really good stuff on their part! Heres a photo to show you just how bad it was for me!

( Getting killed )
So, with 1 exhausting day down, its only 1 to go with our Kulai trip.
Until next time!
A couple weeks ago, I caused a crash on the thursday JR sprint ride. So, after letting things cool off for abit, I decided to go down for the Thursday JR Sprint Ride yesterday.
As I walked out my front door, I said a little prayer for a safe ride, for everyone. Honestly, causing that crash was the worst that I’ve felt on the bike. A little bit of detail regarding the crash: I tapped the front wheel of the rider behind me as I pulled off from the front and I ended up taking him down. Prayer said, I got on my bike and rode off to Long House for the 5am rollout.

( Waiting for the 5am rollout )
The ride was pretty fast although there were no real attacks. I did manage to take 2nd on the Mandai sprint. After Mandai, I caught up to a Maverick and a Cycleworx rider named Weilong. For the rest of the ride, these were the only two guys on the road. I think that there may have been a chasing group, but somehow, they just never caught on. From Mandai to West Coast, the 2 guys were riding like monsters. Each time they came to the front, the instantly pulled the pace up and held it there for at 5km. Just so you have some perspective, every time they came to the front, the pace went up to 40-45km/h. For me, each time I went up, it was all about giving a goof pull but not killing myself.
Fast forward to the end of the ride, I manage to take the Jalan Buroh Sprint in front of Wei Long and the Maverick. Though I doubt that they were contesting it. Just after the sprint, I thanked my fellow riders and slowly enjoyed the rest of my ride.
( A JR Sprint Thursday personal best )
Well all in all, it was a good ride. Until next time.

Hi all, so this is EXTREMELY delayed, here is my Festive 500.
So in december of 2012, Rapha issued a challenge to all cyclists to cycle 500km over the festive period. So after Christmas, as part of my base training plan, I set out to complete the challenge in as few days as possible. In the end, i managed to finish it over the span of 4 rides, 5 if you count the little one i took at night. So, here are the photos.

DAY 4

( My best solo ride EVER )

With that, 500+ kms were done and my Festive 500 was complete. Was a lovely way to end 2012.
Now, keep watching this space for the Weekend’s ride reports.
Hi all, so its the off season now. YAYY!
That means:
- No hardrides
- Getting fat
- Base training
Well, for the past few rides, what I’ve been doing has been base training. Base training is basically getting hours of riding into your legs at a constant pace. Upon the instructions of my friend Faz, I decided that I would do a couple of 3-4 hour rides a week.
Well, to be honest, doing base training is WAY BETTER than going out on killer rides. But even so, waking up at 3 to go out and ride for 3-4 hours alone is extremely taxing on the mind. But I guess that if I want to get stronger for 2013, this is the way to go.
Anyway, enough talk, here are the photos.
